Firestop 101
Please join STI’s Training & Development Manager, John Zalepka for our next live interactive webinar, Firestop 101, on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 2:00pm-4:00pm EDT

Firestop 101 will focus on the basics of passive fire protection. This 2 hour seminar will cover why firestopping is used today, where it is required, how it is tested, product options, and UL systems selection. We will even demonstrate live, some penetration, data cabling and construction joint firestop installations.

This course is registered with AIA (2 LU/HSW), ICC (0.2 CEU) and BICSI (2 CEC). All attendees will also receive a certificate of attendance along with a letter and personalized ID card.

Learning objectives are as follows:
-To understand the basic principles of how passive fire protection factors in to the overall life safety and code compliance of buildings and why firestopping is used today.
-How to read the UL directory and locate appropriate tested systems for the application type.
-Identify where firestopping should be used and if an alternate solution may be necessary.
-How to properly install the correct firestop products.
